Ghost Boys is a book about a boy who was playing with a toy gun and a cop “mistaking” him for having a real gun. Each chapter pretty much ends in a cliffhanger.  The middle of the book told the story of Jamal’s life. Jamal in the main character of the book.  The ending is very intense. It wraps up the story very well and I think that was the best part. It was very good.  I could not put it down. I can’t wait to buy it.

Ghost Boys is an amazing story. The fact that all of the events are extremely realistic made it such an emotional tale. Jerome’s friendship with Sara and Carlos, and his close bond with his sister Kim makes him even more realistic. I loved Ghost Boys and would highly recommend it to anybody who enjoys current events or a tear-jerking story of racism, friendship, and truth.

Ghost Boys by Jewell Parker Rhodes is a sad yet frighteningly true story. It is true because African American kids are being shot all over the U.S.A, but it is not a true story because the main character Jerome is a ghost. We rate this a 4.5 out of 5. This is a must-read for anyone who is in 6th-8th grade, because it is true and they should know what is happening all over their country. It snags you from the very beginning. The first chapter is a cliff-hanger and you want to know the full story.
