Morse Pond Review: The Marvels

MarvelsThe Marvels

Brian Selznick

Available now

The Marvels by Brian Selznick is a story about a teenage boy who runs away from his boarding school to his uncle who he does not know very well. He discovers that his uncle lives in a strange way. Nothing in his house is ever different, and there seem to be ghosts of all kinds roaming the halls from people to birds to horses. The first 200 pages or so are all pictures telling the Marvels made up story and is the only part of the book I dislike. If you are a fan of The Invention of Hugo Cabret and Wonderstruck you would love this book.
